Lost and FOUND METAPHORS in reading Goal: for you to become more aware of the metaphorical seas that you are swimming in. Metaphors are everywhere, to such an extent that many people forget that what they are hearing or reading is metaphorical language. Folk wisdom has it that the last thing that a fish would recognize is the water that it is swimming in. Similarly, we tend to become unaware of how much of our thinking and language is metaphorical. By doing this assignment WE MUST NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED...METAPHORICALLY...ON THAT DAY Assignment requirement Come up with ten found metaphors each week using the following format.
