I just find it a little coincidental that Eric Snowden's story about the fear of government surveillance just happened to break a few weeks before the really, absolutely Orwellian-level fear-inducing story was set to break: the extent of corporate data collection. Come on people! If we learned one thing from Obomination Health Care it's that the government can't do anything! And, apparently, that extends to setting up a website. Do you really think the government is capable of keeping extensive spreadsheets on the shopping tendencies of consumers to the point where they can predict future actions of the citizen/consumer based on history of shopping by the citizen/consumer? If we have learned anything about economics from Fox news it is that the government can't do anything efficiently because they lack the financial incentive. Oh wait, who has financial incentive to keep track of what you buy and don't buy and try to correct for your lack of purchases? Corporations, those engines of economic efficiency!

So my theory is that Eric Snowden was paid by somebody or some organization probably AEI to essentially make up this story to help take the edge off the flak corporations would get from the really frightening story.

And then Snowden, just happened to go to the USSR to evoke our nascent fears of the commies, those god-denying heathens with their message of class struggle.

It's not a stuggle of having good materials people. It's a struggle of spirit! Your shitty Number 9 pencil will write just as well as the fancy #2 pencil, it's just a matter of having "right thoughts."
